Privacy Policy

Last revised July 28, 2026

This privacy policy governs your use of the software application Privilege Points ("Application") for mobile devices that was created by Salamander Apps, LLC. The Application helps you establish tasks, and privileges with point values and keep track of tasks children do around the house.

What information the Application collects and how it is used

User Provided Information

The Application obtains the information you provide when you download and register the Application. Registration with us is optional. However, please keep in mind that you may not be able to use some of the features offered by the Application unless you register with us.

When you register with us and use the Application, you generally provide (a) your name, email address, password and other registration information; (b) transaction-related information, such as when you make purchases, respond to any offers, or download or use applications from us; (c) information you provide us when you contact us for help; and (d) information you enter into our system when using the Application, such as task, privilege, and penalty definitions and related actions.

We may also use the information you provided us to contact you from time to time to provide you with important information, required notices and marketing promotions.

Automatically Collected Information

In addition, the Application may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to, the type of mobile device you use, the unique ID of your mobile device, the IP address of your mobile device, your mobile operating system, the type of mobile Internet browsers you use, and information about the way you use the Application.

This Application does not collect precise information about the location of your mobile device.

We use trusted third-party services to help us operate, secure, and improve the Application — including product analytics (Google Firebase Analytics), crash reporting and diagnostics, and, in the free version, advertising (see "Advertising" below). These services may receive limited device and app-usage information — for example, app-interaction and diagnostic data, and a device advertising identifier used for advertising — as described in this policy. We will share your information with third parties only in the ways that are described in this privacy statement.

We may disclose User Provided and Automatically Collected Information:

Advertising

The free version of the Application displays banner advertising provided by Google AdMob. These ads are shown only in the parent/adult experience of the Application and are never shown to children or on a child's locked device. To serve ads, Google's advertising service may access a device advertising identifier. We do not direct advertising to children, and we configure advertising to be suitable for a general audience. You can learn how Google uses information for advertising at policies.google.com/technologies/ads, and you can reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings. Where required by law, we ask for your consent before personalized advertising is served.

What are my opt-out rights?

You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling the Application. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your mobile device.

Data Retention Policy, Managing Your Information

We will retain User Provided data for as long as you use the Application and for a reasonable time thereafter. We will retain Automatically Collected information for up to 24 months and thereafter may store it in aggregate. You can delete your account within the Application (Settings), delete your family and its data, or ask us to delete your account and all associated data by contacting us at support@privilegepoints.com — see our Account & Data Deletion page for step-by-step instructions, and we will respond in a reasonable time. Please note that some User Provided Data may be required for the Application to function while your account remains active.

Photos and Images

The Application lets a parent or guardian add optional images — profile pictures for family members, and optional "proof" photos of a completed task. Images are uploaded to our servers over encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections and are stored encrypted at rest, and access is limited to your own private family.

Task-completion ("proof") photos are short-lived and are automatically deleted from our servers within 14 days. Profile pictures are kept while they are in use in the Application. To request deletion of your data, including any images, see our Account & Data Deletion page or contact us at support@privilegepoints.com.

Children and Families

Privilege Points is a family chore-and-rewards tool designed for parents and guardians to manage household tasks, and families with children use it. A parent or guardian creates and controls the family account, and it is the parent or guardian who sets up each child's profile. In doing so, a parent or guardian may enter limited information about a child — typically a first name or nickname and, optionally, a profile picture — together with the tasks, points, and rewards they manage for that child. This information is entered by the parent or guardian, is visible only within their own private family, and is never used to build advertising profiles of children or to serve advertising to children.

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child under 13 without a parent or guardian's involvement, and we do not knowingly collect more information from a child than is reasonably necessary for the Application to function.

Consistent with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar laws, a parent or guardian may, at any time, review the information associated with a child's profile, correct or delete it, and refuse to permit its further collection — either within the Application (by editing or removing the child, or by deleting the family account in Settings) or by contacting us at support@privilegepoints.com. We will honor such requests within a reasonable time.

International Users and Your Privacy Rights (GDPR / UK GDPR)

Salamander Apps, LLC is the controller of personal data processed through the Application. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region with data-protection laws, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to receive a copy of your data in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent to process data, you may withdraw that consent at any time.

We process personal data to provide the Application's features (performance of our contract with you), with your consent (for example, for advertising identifiers where consent is required), and for our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Application. Your data is processed and stored in the United States; where data is transferred internationally, we take steps intended to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@privilegepoints.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

Security

We are concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. We provide physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information we process and maintain. For example, we limit access to this information to authorized employees and contractors who need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our Application. Please be aware that, although we endeavor to provide reasonable security for information we process and maintain, no security system can prevent all potential security breaches.

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. We will notify you of any changes to our Privacy Policy by posting the new Privacy Policy at privilegepoints.com/privacy/ and informing you via email or text message. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.

Your Consent

By using the Application, you are consenting to our processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us. "Processing" means using cookies on a computer/hand held device or using or touching information in any way, including, but not limited to, collecting, storing, deleting, using, combining and disclosing information, all of which activities will take place in the United States.
